Thanks for the lookup! I started in Amateur Radio in 1976, in Bowling Green, KY. My interest in radio was in part due to my dabbling in CB (Yea, I did that!), and my father's (WA4UID) experience as a CW operator in the Army in the 50's. I was licensed in 1977 as a novice with WB4UIC (just missing the WN4- calls), and then upgraded to General in 1978. It was then a long, dry spell before finally upgrading to Advanced in 1992. I mostly do phone operation on HF, and local VHF Ops on 146.550 Simplex. Look for me around 7.198 - 7.204 +/- QRM/N nightly.  My equipment is: ICOM IC-751A,  TMV-7A for UHF/VHF, Motorola Spectra 50W VHF, ICOM 706MKIIG for 2M Sideband, and other 10-20M HF.  Tower #1 is 62' of Rohn 25 guyed off at 32 and 58 feet with 5/16" EHS and "Jesus Hooks" in 1/2 yard of concrete each down 5 feet.  The tower base has about 1.3 yards of concrete in a 3.5 X 4 foot hole.  On it, I have the 2 Ele Telex-Hygain 402BA Yagi on 40M using a HAM IV Rotor, Wire inverted V's for 40 and 75M at 40', and a Sinclair 2-Bay VHF Vertical at 50 Ft.  Tower #2 is 32' of Rohn 25 tower with an Cushcraft A4S Tri-Bander and an A147-11 2-Meter beam for 2-Meter SSB above that at about 40'.   Turning that mess with a Tailtwiter II Rotor.  Back  in 2010, I buried all the runs of coax from both towers in 3" PVC, and added antenna switches to each tower. Ease of Operation!

I also do some HF USAF MARS work, and am the Region8 USAF MARS Training Manager. My USAF MARS calls are AFA8GT/AFE8TM.

I am currently retired USAF after serving 20+ years for Uncle Sam. I was a Wideband radio technician (ex-304X0/2E1X4), and Visual Imagery and Intrusion Detection Systems technician. I joined the USAF in 1982, as a Security Police specialist until I cross-trained in 1987 into communications. I retired at the rank of TSgt, but did make MSgt (E-7) before retiring, just didn't take the stripe - wanting to get back home to the wife after 2 years away from home, and a new life.

My tours have been to Berlin, GE Templehof AS (83-86), Whiteman AFB, MO (86-87), Keesler AFB, MS (87), FE Warren AFB, WY (87-92), Kunsan AB, Korea (92-93),HL9WY was the Korean Call, Ellsworth AFB, SD (93-94), Nellis AFB, NV (94-97), Saudi Arabia (97), Dyess AFB, TX (97-00), Osan AB Korea (00 - 01), HL9WY was the Korean call, and Langley AFB, VA HQ ACC/SC (01 - 03), then Home to Cheyenne in Jan 2003.

I have 3 acres of land about 4 miles North-East of Cheyenne. The house was built in 2003. I am currently a Retired, but previously was a Service Manager for a Motorola Sales and Service company here in Cheyenne. More time to play radio!

Check out my website www.wb4uic.com for more info and pics of the antennas and shack! Look forward to hearing you on the air!!  Best 73, and Good DX!! - Tom WB4UIC/AFA8GT/AFE8TM (ex-HL9WY)
